Anyway, before I go on with episode 2 (yay!), I just want to give a huge shoutout of congratulations to Valerie Weigmann for winning Miss World Philippines 2014! I knew she was going to win this whole shebang. More on her later on a separate post.

Congrats, Val! Another back to back, perhaps? (Photo courtesy of Rappler.) |
First up is Bang Taeeun. For me, the body needs more buffing up. Though in runway standards, these body types can book more castings because the designers make clothes in this sizes usually. I want the intensity in his face. Even if his eyes are closed, I can still feel the emotion and the desire in his face. Maybe pain, perhaps? Also, the body lines are defined, and the overall picture is great. I agree with what the judges had said.
The ever so cute cutie #1 Jung Donggyu. He was "flustered" to wear skimpy underwear for the shoot. I kept on wondering, why on earth do they call a man's briefs paenti (panties, their pronunciation, not mine)? Hmm.. Anyway, the picture looks like he's some Korean spy agent disguised as a swimmer who's about to escape from the penthouse swimming pool of some rich Hilton hotel through a ladder. Upon closeup, however, his face is meh. He's now a school boy climbing up the stairs leading to some playland in Lotte World. The closeup was meh but the overall picture is good. Not mindblowing nor disappointing. I wish that his facial expressions have hardened somehow.
The girl who almost got the boot last episode went up a notch for this shoot. Well, not that high, tho. Han Jian screams fluidity, fluidity and more fluidity. This picture can be a cutout to replace the man's hand in Michaelangelo's Sistine Madonna fresco! It's sexy but very fashion. She's modelling here, definitely. The lines are soft and flowy. The face is a bit orgasmic, but had the eyes are opened, this would be a very amazing photo. The emotion is evident in every pixel of it.
Kim Yerim's up next. This picture is like one of a rich Korean heirress who saw her beau snuggling up with someone, and she climbed from the pool to see it all in action. The body language is amazing. I love the pointed foot. A bit fitness magazine, but still acceptable.
The baby keeps on slayin'! Kim Minjung was frustrated to death during the shoot, because she wanted a certain thing to happen but didn't. Burst the bubble. The viewer's attention zooms directly on her face. The strength of the stare is piercing. Not a fan of the whole pose, but the face sells Gucci and Lanvin for me.
Miss Hyun Jieun aka blah blah girl is up next. I love it that she's not that strained in her photo. I can feel the carefree manner that she had in this picture. The angles of the lower part were slightly Modelling 101 for me. Overall, a decent picture.
Choi Jungjin's performance made me remember of how awkward Ann Ward (ANTM Cycle 15 winner) was when she was shooting with THE Patrick Demarchelier. Awkward in movement, but spectacular on film. Well, not much the same for this guy. The body looked amputated. The other arm is not visible. The hands are opened too wide. The legs were okay-ish as well. The face had emotion, but I just don't think it's the right one for this shoot.

High fashion goddess Ann Ward for Patrick Demarchelier. Awkward on shoot, amazeballs on film. |
Kim Jonghoon's the stubborn kid wearing the dunce hat on the corner of the classroom for Ms Han's class. He's willful during the shoot. If that happened on ANTM, Tyra would've lashed on you STAT and you have two choices: be like Brittani (ANTM 16 winner) and storm outside of panel crying her ass off, or be like Louise (ANTM 18 contestant) and storm outside of panel crying and cussing her ass off. Wooooo child! Going back, I agree with Jang Yoon-ju. The face is not connecting to the body. The body had a lot of movements and energy, but the face is lackluster. He looks like a school boy who jumps over the fence because he's late for school.
My ballerina Shin Jae-hyuk. *fangirl giggles for six weeks* I officially nominate this photo to be the official symbol of gymnastics in the Summer Olympics next 2016. This is MINDBLOWING. The ingenuity of the pose, the power oozing in every angle, the water splashing on the sides -- everything is impeccable. I'm not being biased because I like Jaehyuk oppa, but the face is insane. He reminded me of Samantha from Cycle 11 of ANTM. The face is to die for. He's definitely a threat, for this episode, at least.
I love Lee Chulwoo's energy on set. He's very creative and innovative, and all I can hear during his take was "좋아 ! 좋아 ! 좋아 !" ("Good! Good! Good!") of Ms Han. She's a fan obviii. He's the more famous one of all male modelstants. I can see another Samantha Potter in this shot, when she played with the water and gave her the FCO for that week. The face is great, but I want to see some more beef in the body.
I am officially in love with Hwang Gippeum's face. J'adore all over. This is posh. The face is upturned yet I can still see emotions in it. The hand on the hip is a bit Miss Universe-y, but it's forgivable. This is a cool shot.
Kim Seunghee. Ah, she's so adorbamazeballs, but this is plain. She looks like she's tying her hair into a ponytail. I want to see more bounce in the hair and smize in the eyes. She's like a dove in this shot.
Jung Sohyun was our official color commentator for this episode. She's really fun to listen to and I love her comments on almost everything -- the shoot, the guys, the curly hairs in the bathroom (whoops!). As for this shot, well. This is deplorable. Plain, blah, soda crackers. Quite forgettable.
Jung Yoonsu's shapely legs drew the awe in many of the girls' faces. Raises hand too, shamelessly. *fangirl giggles for two hours* He responded by slapping his legs appreciatively. Uhh, can I do that? :/ Anyway.. He needs to find his angles. He keeps on blocking the light. The face is not that visible. He could've done more.
Han Seungsoo's officially one of the frontrunners for this competition. He's slayin' it! Risky, yes. High fashion, yes. A bit Michael Phelps-ish, but still, it's the second week. He has potential. He just needs to refine on his movements.
The guys who did the rings (Seungsoo, Chulwoo and Jaehyuk) made Ms Han and all the angels in heaven sing praises for hours on end. The ones who did the vaulting horse (Sohyun, Jungjin and Jonghoon) made Ms Han hold her phone auto dialled to 911 for the entire shoot. Ahh, the slips! If that happened on ANTM, they wouldn't have given a freaking damn. They'd be like, "You got feet right? Go stand up, we don't have all day!" Poor poor Americans. Hurrah for the Asians! Proud Asian here. *blink blink*
My Callout Order: Seungsoo, Chulwoo, Jaehyuk, Gibeum, Jieun, Minjung, Taeeun, Jungjin, Jian, Seunghee, Yerim, Yunsoo, Donggyu, Sohyun
Aww, bye bye Sohyun. You'll be sorely missed. KNTM, please give her the color commentator post! STAT!
Toodles for now! Hope you had fun. Spread the love, share the happiness! Comments are well appreciated.
xoxo
